Starting with Safety

Before we get started today and I tell you all about the amazing benefits of lavender essential oil. It’s important to note the distinction between pure authentic, well-made essential oils and fragrant oils. Fragrance oils can contain harmful chemicals or can be diluted beyond the point of usefulness. This is important because the FDA, unfortunately, allows essential oils in the United States being labeled “100% pure therapeutic grade”. Even if that bottle contains as little as 5% or more essential oil. That means that 90% to 95% of what’s in that bottle is not the essential oil you are paying for. No other ingredients are required to be listed under these current guidelines. Not even when they are present in the final product.

When talking about the uses and benefits of the essential oils here, we are ONLY referring to pure organic essential oils that are correctly grown, harvested, and distilled. This means they are processed at the proper temperatures to make sure the active constitutes have not been destroyed in the distillation process. They are grown with better than organic standards to ensure that no chemical components have ever come in contact with the oil, plants, or land. Because of this necessity, after years of research, there is only one essential oil company that I have found to stand out above the rest and provide a truly organic, safe, and effective product. That is why Young Living essential oils are the only ones that I use for my family and recommend to you. You can find out more information about the company and their safety standards atSeedtoSeal.com.

Lavender Essential Oil Is The Oil Of Calm

When beginning to use essential oils, it’s best to put together a kit with a few basics. These will be oils that help cover all of the needs for you and your family. This makes essential oils easy to learn and work with. All of my recommended starter oils have a keyword that you can associate with them to help you learn their properties. Lavender is the oil of relaxation so the keyword for this oil would be calm.

Lavender oil calms your nervous system which helps relax you both physically and emotionally. It has been shown to physically reduce the activity of the nervous system. This helps people sleep at night and calms down emotions so you can unwind at the end of the day.

Lavender For Night and Day

Lavender oil calms your nervous system which helps relax you both physically and emotionally. It has been shown to physically reduce the activity of the nervous system. This helps people sleep at night and calms down emotions so you can unwind at the end of the day.

At night time lavender interacts with the melatonin in your body to help you fall asleep. And during the day you have cortisol in your body instead of melatonin. When lavender interacts with cortisol it helps you focus and can have a very uplifting affect on your mood. Because of this Lavender is a wonderful oil for people who suffer from high energy or anxiety. Lavender essential oil can calm these centers of the brain and help you feel more balanced.

As lavender helps calm your mind, it can also lead to increased focus throughout the day. When your mind is racing, it’s hard to get anything done. Lavender helps you slow down, so you can hone in on what needs your attention.

Calming For Your Skin

Because it is so calming to the skin, lavender can help to alleviate symptoms of skin discomfort. Soothing skin that is suffering from over-exposure to the sun or mild burns and redness. It can also help irritated or itching skin as well as speed skin cell repair. Lavender essential oil is one of the first essential oils to be researched in the modern age, for therapeutic properties. Rene Gattefosse is the most well known for documenting the properties of lavender. His book, Gattefosse's Aromatherapy: The First Book on Aromatherapy📷. is an excellent source of information for those wanting to know more about lavender, essential oils, and the early history of modern scientific research into their properties.

Lavender also has the ability to soften the skin and reduce the appearance of scarring. It’s a great essential oil to add to your lotions or bath products. Lavender encourages growth in both hair and nails. It can be applied topically to both of these areas, with or without dilution. This soothing essential oil is even mild enough to use on your face! Do not put it directly into (eyes, ears, nose, ext.). Mucus membranes of the body are not meant for direct contact with essential oils. I love adding a drop of lavender into my beauty products. Even in mascara, it can help keep your lashes healthy and long.
